I'm a retired technology manager from one of the major banks, now navigating life with a disability—but my curiosity never clocked out. I've always been a hands-on tinkerer. As a kid, I was the one taking apart radios, toys, and anything mechanical just to understand how they worked.
A lifelong passion for aviation led me to start building my own airplane about 12 years ago. It was a dream project—equal parts challenge and joy. Unfortunately, chronic back issues forced me to step away from that endeavor, leaving a creative void I needed to fill.
That’s when I discovered 3D printing. It’s the perfect blend of tactile engagement and mental stimulation. While I don’t design most of the models I print, I love bringing to life the imaginative creations of others—makers far more artistic than I am. Engaging in custom 3D printing allows me to explore various 3D printed products, keeping my hands busy, my mind sharp, and my inner tinkerer satisfied with new creative projects.
3D printing has been my hobby for over a decade. In the early days, it was more about troubleshooting than creating—tweaking settings, leveling beds, and coaxing decent prints out of finicky machines. Thankfully, the technology has come a long way, and I’m finally seeing consistent, satisfying results.
What started as a personal pastime gradually spilled into the real world. I began giving away my prints to servers and bartenders during meals out—small tokens of appreciation. To my surprise, many of them proudly displayed the pieces, sparking curiosity and questions from others who wanted to know where they came from and how to get one.
This site isn’t about making a fortune. I’m not chasing profits—just trying to cover costs and maybe fund the next cool gadget. It’s a way to share what I’ve made, connect with others who appreciate the craft, and keep the creative momentum going.
Chronic back pain means I’m often wide awake when the rest of the world is asleep. Late at night, while most homes are dark, there’s usually one light glowing in our FROG—our Finished Room Over Garage. It’s my creative refuge, where ideas take shape and printers hum quietly into the early hours. If you ever drove through our neighborhood in the middle of the night, chances are you'd spot that light on. That’s where this site—and many of its creations—were born.
